Loire Valley/ Sancerre
France
The estate was created in 1850 and currently covers 21 hectares over several vineyard sites around the town of Chavignol, in the heart of the Sancerre appellation planted with Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. The Bourgeois family has owned the Domaine since 1986 and each generation has learned their craft in the vineyards and winery to remain as one of the top Sancerre producers.
The family has managed to put together a series of top class vineyards, the jewel in the crown being the monopole, 8.5 hectare “Le Rochoy” which has a perfect south and southeast exposure.
Since 2013 the property has been certified organic which they believe provides greater structure and depth to the wines.
