Swan Valley

Third generation WA owners, the Yukich Family, have realized a long-held dream by returning the
heritage listed grounds and winery of Swan Location 11 (originally listed in 1829 and renamed
Houghton in 1836), back to WA hands. By christening our winery and grounds in tribute to our
Grandfather Nikola, we continue our family’s passion and dedication to produce premium wines.
Nikola would be proud of the Estate and of the brand; showing him ploughing his Swan Valley lands
under three generations of our heritage listed Jacaranda trees.

The family continue to invest in the future of their wines with Damian Hutton as General Manager
and Chief Winemaker and Matty Trent managing the vineyards.
Damian brings an innovative perspective to grape growing and winemaking striving for great wine
quality, sustainable practices, and always working to make wines that are enjoyed by their customers.

Damian’s move to Nikola Estate in 2020 bringing over 18 years of experience and more than 50
trophies at national and regional wine shows was a major coup. Damian is passionate about the
Perth Hills and Swan Valley wine regions. Matty joined Nikola in 2019 bringing over 20 years of
experience with him and a passion for alternative varieties and sustainable viticulture. Matty has
worked with a variety of production systems and wine styles in Margaret River, Frankland River and
many regions surrounding Adelaide.
