Tuscany/ DOCG Chianti Classico
The fourth generation of the Menichetti family grow grapes at 350 metres above sea level on the rolling hills around the town of Montefiridolfi, not far from Florence, in the Chianti Classico DOC.
At this altitude the summers are warm and the winters rather cold with significant diurnal temperature variations year round. The property is organically farmed and the processes are energy efficient with the natural balance of water quality, soil fertility and ecological balances preserved.
In the winery, vinification is by natural yeasts and sulphite free. Large oak barrels are used to attain the elegant and soft wines the property is known for. Sangiovese is the main variety used with some Cabernet Sauvignon added to some wines to impart more spicy and intense notes.
