Bodegas Virgen del Aguila is located within the DO Carinena wine region at the foot of the Iberico
mountains in northern Spain where it has the ideal conditions for making wines. Some of our oldest
vines date back to 1906. The climate is continental Mediterranean, with a good average rainfall and
over 2,800 hours of sunshine. The average elevation is 750 meters, with mosaic like terroir and soils
predominated by chalks, clays and schist’s. Our wines are prized in the most important international
wine competitions and assured by the British retail Consortium and International Food Standard.
The winery draws grapes from 2500 hectares of cool climate vineyards growing a diverse range of
varieties that include indigenous classics to international varieties from a complex array of soil types.
The styles of wines vary enormously as is expected of a winery this size, from fresh fruity whites to
complex reds through to Gran Reserva status.
